Youth Philanthropy Academy Facilitator Fellowship
As a Facilitator of Portland’s first Youth Philanthropy Academy you can expect to expand your leadership development skills, learn about the history and impact of philanthropy, and career and mobilization opportunities in the nonprofit sector.
The Youth Philanthropy Academy
Are you passionate about building economic power in Black communities? Portland’s first Youth Philanthropy Academy allows 50+ academy participants to decide how to distribute $250,000 to Black-led organizations to create a liberated future for all. There is an opportunity to participate in two paid positions as either a Facilitator Fellow or a cohort member of the Academy.
About The FELLOWSHIP
Next Up is hiring 10 Facilitator Fellows to steward a new academy cohort for Portland’s first Youth Philanthropy Academy. Fellows will work closely with the Youth Philanthropy Director to oversee the implementation of the 8-week leadership academy course, which aims to uplift Black youth to become active participants in philanthropy, and social change, and where academy participants will redistribute $250,000 to Black-led organizations in Oregon. Facilitators will be responsible for supporting a selection of the 50+ Academy participants by managing the weekly curriculum, leading breakouts, providing mentorship, and programmatic support.
Both Facilitators and Academy participants will learn about fundraising strategies, the history of philanthropy, and career and mobilization opportunities in the nonprofit sector. Experience working in Black communities is highly desirable.
